Flowering Teas for Centerpiece

Enjoying tea time can be enhanced by using flowering or blooming teas. These are not only flavorful but charming to watch as well. Flowering teas literally bloom as you steep the tea. Think about how delighted your guests will be at your next tea party.

Besides enjoying the tea itself, flowering teas make a great centerpiece for your tea party as well. The blooms are quite beautiful. Set a clear teapot in the center of your table. Use a complimentary-colored linen napkin to set it on. Or, use a white napkin to set off the beautiful look of the flowering tea.

The tea blossoms themselves come in a small ball about the size of a strawberry or walnut. You just set one or more tea balls in the bottom of your clear tea pot and pour in your hot water. The tea steeps and releases the bloom. Some of the blooms are unique and interesting shapes with bright florals in the midst. Try several different ones in the same teapot to get an exciting look.

Since these don't last forever, before your next tea party, try out several different arrangements. Record which ones and how many you are using. When you find a real knock-out combination, mark it in your notes that this is the one you want to use for your centerpiece.

Or make use of this for a party activity. Have several clear teapots on the table along with several different packages of flowering teas. Allow your guests to choose which tea balls to include in the arrangements. Then enjoy all the ooos, and ahhs, as your teapots bloom right in front of your guests' eyes! Finally, enjoy the fun of tasting all the tea combinations. Can't you just imagine all the talk of what a great tea party you had?
