Tea parties are fun events for many of us. That's evident because of how popular they are these days. So, when it's time to plan your next tea party, there are things to think about. One of them is the type of tea party you want to have.
This article is about a dessert style or sweets only tea party. I've done several of these kinds and each has been hugely popular. Of course, I am planning more dessert style tea parties.
First thing to think about is the timing of the party. You definitely want this one to be after a meal, but not too close to a next meal. So early afternoon or evening make great times to have a sweets-only tea party.
Beware of your guests food limitations. This is important when it comes to your menu choices. If you a diabetic as one of your guests, you will need to provide alternatives to high-sugar content foods. Those who are trying to reduce their weight will need alternatives as well. Think about things like fresh fruit to serve. Or use fruits to provide some of the sweet flavor in your foods.
Cookies, sweet biscuits, brownies, chocolate-dipped fruits are all good options for tea party foods. Personally, I love to use cookie cutters to create many of the foods I serve in shapes. It just makes a charming and delightful presentation.
Setting up your buffet for sweets only tea parties is not difficult. I like to use various heights in the buffet. The visual look is more appealing. Little things like paper lace doilies add to the effect of a sweets-only buffet presentation.
When you begin planning a tea party, you can easily plan a dessert-style event. It's always a good idea to let your guests know that only sweets will be served. It's a simple courtesy to your guests.
