Pumpkins Teapots and Fall Tea Parties

With the arrival of Fall, we start looking towards Halloween and Thanksgiving. Which also means it's time to get your pumpkin teapots. The perfect complement for your Fall tea parties, pumpkin teapots make sharing the fun more enjoyable. Whether you're a hostess who goes all out for your parties, or just enjoy celebrating the seasons, you will want to add a pumpkin or Fall-themed teapot to your home.

Fall Tea Parties

After the enjoyment of outdoor tea parties, it's time to bring the party indoors. Your party and home decorations will represent the colors of Autumn. That's usually the changing leaves colors - reds, oranges, yellows. The final harvest for most farmers are also represented in these colors. And pumpkins make up a big part of that final harvest.

This is a time to use a pumpkin teapot. Pair it with solid colored tea cups in a color that picks up something in your teapot or decorations. Like red, orange, even green for the pumpkin vine.

Your tea choices should also reflect the season. Apple and cinnamon teas make great choices for your guests. Don't be afraid to go with darker teas. They warm up colder guests very nicely. Of course, you'll want to brush up on how to brew the perfect pot of tea.

If children will be part of your tea party, don't forget to help them enjoy it too, with their own little tea sets

Use Pumpkin Teapots for Decorating, too

Even if you're not planning a Fall Tea Party, pumpkin teapots make a great decorating item. Here are some suggestions for you.
  • Set a pumpkin tea pot in the center of your table. Arrange some silk Autumn leaves around it.
  • Create a grouping on a prominent shelf or furniture top that includes your pumpkin tea pot and several complementary tea cups around it.
  • Place your pumpkin tea pot on a side table with a single tea cup and cloth napkin next to it, as though preparing for a small tea service.
Whether it's a Fall tea party, or decorating your kitchen or home for the Autumn season, using a pumpkin tea pot makes good sense.

Planning for Holiday Tea Parties

Planning for a holiday tea party is one of those treats that I get to enjoy every year. My Christmas tea party is a tradition in my circle of friends. So let me share with you the things that I plan and how the party comes out, well...usually.

Choosing Themes for a Holiday Tea Party

You might think that Christmas is a theme all by itself. And that can be true but not necessarily. I have done themes around an Alice in Wonderland or Madhatter tea party. I've also planned what I've called a Christmas Satin & Lace tea party. There are many options to fine tune your own holiday tea party to make it more themed.

Work With Tea Party Invitations

The first thing I do each year is to go through the possible invitations for Christmas tea parties. That's where I can pick up theme ideas, decor possibilities, even menu options. Let me show you how.

Last year, I found an invitation that I just loved. The theme was something of Victorian to it's look, but it was more whimsical than formal. That gave me lots of options to get very creative in my party planning.

The invitation had a set of mismatched tea cups in one corner. Ergo, I collected up a delightful group of tea cups, one from each of my sets. Then I proceeded to mismatch all my serveware, and took up a red and white color scheme.

Since most of my tea cups were of a floral pattern, I used flower cookie cutters to make the biscuits and cookies for the menu. Of course, with a Victorian theme, I also offered traditional sweets for the tea party.

Make Sure to Plan Tea Parties Early

I always make sure to set the date for my Christmas tea party early. Then let as people as possible know, even before I send out the tea party invitations. The holidays are such a busy time for everyone that I want to make sure they reserve the date and time of my party.

Once the date is set I can order the invitations. I like to give enough time, just in case. After all, mistakes do happen and I don't want to ruin my plans because I waited until the last minute!

Christmas Tea Pots

It's that time of year again. Time to think about winter and Christmas. For me, it's those holiday tea parties and tea pots. Christmas teapots can be such a fun addition to any collection, or just enjoyable to serve tea from during all the holiday festivities.

The whimsical Christmas teapots are fun, but the beautiful ones are great as well. When I'm hosting a formal tea party to celebrate the holidays, I like to serve from a floral or more traditional tea pot. If I have the whole set, with matching tea cups, fine.

If not, I like to use solid color teacups. Yes, I do have a number of holly-red teacups, as well as several pine green ones. These tend to go with any of my Christmas teapots. And when I have larger tea parties, I can use the solid colors to go with my sets.

Of course, there is always that grandgirls' afternoon fun tea time. One of my holiday whimsical or Christmas tea pot. I haven't yet decided which one I will add to my collection and use for this year's Christmas tea time, but I've got it narrowed down. My funny Christmas tea pots will certainly tickle her funny bone.
humorous teapots works great. It's time for the youngest to join the tea party this year, so I started looking for a new

Plan a Tea Party For Desserts Only

Tea parties are fun events for many of us. That's evident because of how popular they are these days. So, when it's time to plan your next tea party, there are things to think about. One of them is the type of tea party you want to have.

This article is about a dessert style or sweets only tea party. I've done several of these kinds and each has been hugely popular. Of course, I am planning more dessert style tea parties.

First thing to think about is the timing of the party. You definitely want this one to be after a meal, but not too close to a next meal. So early afternoon or evening make great times to have a sweets-only tea party.

Beware of your guests food limitations. This is important when it comes to your menu choices. If you a diabetic as one of your guests, you will need to provide alternatives to high-sugar content foods. Those who are trying to reduce their weight will need alternatives as well. Think about things like fresh fruit to serve. Or use fruits to provide some of the sweet flavor in your foods.

Cookies, sweet biscuits, brownies, chocolate-dipped fruits are all good options for tea party foods. Personally, I love to use cookie cutters to create many of the foods I serve in shapes. It just makes a charming and delightful presentation.

Setting up your buffet for sweets only tea parties is not difficult. I like to use various heights in the buffet. The visual look is more appealing. Little things like paper lace doilies add to the effect of a sweets-only buffet presentation.

When you begin planning a tea party, you can easily plan a dessert-style event. It's always a good idea to let your guests know that only sweets will be served.  It's a simple courtesy to your guests.

Easter Tea Party Planning

Oh, this glorious time of year when Spring is coming and we are getting ready for Easter. As far as I'm concerned that's a great time for a tea party. Easter tea parties naturally lend themselves to Springtime decorating and accents. What a fun combination.

For many of us, me included, this Winter has been a hard one. I have been looking for Spring for several months now. So the planning of an Easter tea party gets me in the Spring time mood.

First, I chose some great invitations. Easter tea party invitations are fun and charming ways to get you thinking about how you will plan out your party. You make decisions about when, which probably includes the type of food. Whether a meal like brunch or lunch, or just an afternoon of relaxing with friends and family. You put together your guest list.

Now get out your recipe books. Or check the internet. Choosing your food for tea time is an important consideration. Then get thinking about how you will decorate a buffet table or your dining table if it's a sit-down meal.

Easter tea party invitations work great for this. I use them for inspiration. When I have chosen which invitations I want to send out, I also have ideas for my theme or decor. That's the kind of thing that can make life easier. And yes, I am all about making it easier.

Even Easter tea parties! The more things I can group into one planning session, the easier it is. For many, just the idea of bright spring flowers is a perfect theme. But there are other ideas. Like a Mad Hatter Easter tea party, just to welcome in Spring. Clearly a fun time is in order for all.

Whimsical Teapots: Polka Dots and Pastels

Don't we all love polka dots? Well, I do. And they make for great and fun whimsical teapots and teacups. Then play a little mix and match with pastels and we have a fun look.

Whether you want polka dots and pastels teapots and teacups for your own use or you want to have them for a party. You're in luck. There are some great ones to get.

Personally, I love using my polka dot and pastel tea sets just for me. They give me that little lift that's so much fun. Oh, yes. I have plenty of whimsical tea sets in my collection. And all are great fun to use in so many different ways.

There are times when an animal style teapot and cup work, but there are great times when I love to use one of my polka dot and pastel tea sets. I just get that charming lift with my tea time.

Parties are a great time to use those fun whimsical teapots and cups. Think of a bridal shower, a baby shower, even a birthday party. These are definitely times that use polka dots and pastels for the tea sets.

Of course, you will want to brew up the perfect pot of tea. That just makes using fun teapots and teacups all the better.

Tea Party Serve Ware: Fun, Unusual and Unique

Yes, you can have fun with your tea party serve ware. If you have chosen a fun or whimsical theme, you definitely want some unusual serving dishes to accent your theme. Even if you want to have a traditional tea party, you can still enjoy using unique serving dishes.

I had loads of fun recently planning a crazy tea party. It was a sweets-only tea party. So I had lots of dessert-type foods to serve. It was a birthday party for a nutty friend, so nuttiness was the theme of the tea party.

In some crazy fun serving dishes, I put plenty of different kinds of nuts to snack on. All the desserts had nuts in them and plenty had nuts to top the sweets. I made cherry-pecan mini-cupcakes, almond cookies, sweet peanut butter scones and walnut-pineapple cream cheese finger sandwiches.

Oh, yes, my friend loved it. She makes no bones about being a nutty person, so this tea party was such a treat for all of us. The nut theme was fun, but I think the biggest hit were the crazy and wacky serve ware that I used. I was asked by just about everyone where I got them.

You can get them, too. Even if you don't have a nutty friend, you can still have a great time and get lots of compliments on your fun and unusual tea party serve ware. There can no limits when you have a fun tea party.
